Abstract
Expression profile of VvAREB2 and VvABF1 (AREB/ABFs family), VvNHX1 (Na+/H+ antiporter family) and VvOSM1 (OSMs Osmotin family) genes was evaluated in B41 rootstock and Baladi cultivar grapevine (Vitis vinifera L.) leaves after 1, 3 and 5 days of exposure to salt stress of 2 dS/m seawater (SW) and drought stress (without holding the water supply) using Real-Time PCR (RT-qPCR) analysis. Data analysis showed varietal difference in transcript amounts has been noticed regarding of the tested genes, the studied accessions and the studied stresses. Overall, all the tested genes transcript showed similar tendency of up-regulation along with prolonged of exposure time from 1 to 5 days; except, VvAREB2 in B41 rootstock grapevine; where its transcript amount was down-regulated from 2 to 0.9 fold under salt stress; inversely; its transcript amount was up-regulated from 0.38 to 1.339 fold under drought stress. Moreover, VvOSM1 also in Baladi cultivar showed down-regulated from 4.1 to 1.25 fold under salt stress; inversely; its transcript amount was up-regulated from 0.95 to 2.2 fold under drought stress. The current study highlighted that the above tested genes could implicated in salt and drought stress tolerance in different manners.
